🌱✨ Kickstart to our Fall 2025 Saturday GENE-ius Day classes!

Today, we had our amazing Grades 1-6 have their first lab of the semester! They learned about cycles and the different ones we have around us. They got to make their very own ecosystem with Opae and made paper from recycled newspaper! 🦐🗞️

GENE-ius Day starts this Saturday, September 13, from 10 AM – 12 PM at UH Mānoa! We can’t wait to welcome our young scientists for an excellent, hands-on learning experience full of discovery and fun. 🙌

Here’s what our first lab, “Round N’ Round We Go!”, is all about:

🧒 Grades 1–3
• Learn how different organisms cycle through their life stages
• Explore cycles in our planet and the environment
• Create a hands-on take-home project

👦 Grades 4–6
• Discover which organisms help the earth recycle and how they do it
• Trace where recycled items go and what they become
• Build a living system that supports itself by recycling

We’re looking forward to kicking off the first session of the fall with you all! 🌱🔬🧪

🧪✨ Exposing kids early to the wonders of science! Here’s a peek at our gel electrophoresis setup — one of the many hands-on activities students get to experience at GENE-ius Day.

Our Fall sessions start September 13, giving students in Grades 1–6 the chance to explore biology, genetics, and more in a fun, engaging way!
