UH Mānoa Department of Ethnic Studies The Department of Ethnic Studies is an interdisciplinary unit with emphasis on undergraduate education.

Initiated in 1970, Ethnic Studies combines traditional and contemporary methodologies with new perspectives on issues of race, ethnicity, and class.

Join us for a two-day collaborative speaker series centering Piscataway and Native Hawaiian cultural exchange.

Day 1 (Tuesday, September 15) will feature Dr. Gabrielle Tayac (add afiilliations?) and Kumu Snowbird Puananiopaoakalani Bento. The conversation will take place at QLC 113 from 3:00 - 4:30 PM.

Day 2 (Thursday, September 17) will feature Dr. Gabrielle Tayac, Kumu Snowbird Puananiopaoakalani Bento, and Rex Lokeni to discuss the future of Indigenous relations across the Pacific. This event will take place at the Bishop Museum, in Atherton Halau from 5:30 - 7:00 PM.
