ENGLISH CLASS: A teacher asked the students to punctuate the following sentence, "A woman without her man is nothing." The boys in the class wrote, "A woman, without her man, is nothing." The girls in the class wrote, "A woman: without her, man is nothing." Punctuation is powerful.

Honolulu on VJ Day in 1945 65 Years Ago my Dad shot this film along Kalakaua Ave. in Waikiki capturing spontaneous celebrations that broke out upon first hearing news of the Japanese surrender.
Keep Kindergarten Hawaii On Tuesday, June 7, Hawaii Department of Education Superintendent Kathy Matayoshi presented a series of proposed cuts to student services in order to save the public school system's money. One of her more outrageous memo items is the consideration of cutting kindergarten!

Kalakaua Middle School offering summer programs The DOE announced that 37 public schools will offer regular summer school courses to all interested students. Kalakaua Middle School is the only school offering summer programs in the Metro Oahu area.
