Be there for UH choirs final concert of the year featuring UH’s Chamber Singers, Concert Choir and OCS!

Shout out to these epic section leaders & future music educators for all their leadership in rehearsal these past couple weeks! Have a great Spring Break to all UHM faculty & students and mark your calendars for our Spring Sing Concert in April 😁💐

We had a great time hosting and at the inaugural Nā Haku Mele! It was a night full of socializing, choral community, & sight-reading Queen Lili’uokalani’s mele arranged by college students all around the state!

UH Concert Choir will be performing at the David Kalama Choral Festival: Ā Mau Loa Aku this Saturday, March 16th at 5pm. Register to sing some of Uncle David’s works in ‘olelo with us!

Starting the year strong with a fun night of musical chairs, karaoke, cards against humanity and yummy snacks 😋🎶🥢

Onto our final new member if this semester—who is also a KUHACDA veteran—Ka’aena our Choir Kupuna!

Ka’ena has been in both Chamber Singers and Concert Choir for the past 5 years! He will be graduating in Hawaiian Music this Spring! Two things that bring him joy are ceramics and his girlfriend (awww). His go-to girl dinner is taegu, or spicy cuttlefish, with rice and egg. 🪴💜

Next, we would like to introduce you to our Treasurer—Jasper!

Music is one of the things that bring him joy and as a result, Jasper has been singing with Chamber Singers for the past three years! He is a Public Health major hoping to go into Pharmacy. His go-to girl dinner is triscuits with meat and cheese. Another thing that brings him joy is simply living. 🌎🎼

We have some new members on our board this season and we would like to start off with Alexis, our new Social Media Coordinator!

This is her first year at UH Mānoa but she is already an active member in our Music Department. As a self-taught musician, Alexis has managed to find a place in both Marching Band and Chamber Singers! Ever the Libra with expansive interests, she is also majoring in Marine Biology and minoring in Photography. Two things that bring her the most joy are the ocean and her family. Alexis’ go-to girl dinner are cheese pretzels! 🥨🌊

O COME ALL YE to our final winter concert—Maluhia: Time of Peace! Join all UH Ensembles and OCS Symphonic Choir in ringing in the holiday season with an epic set of holiday tunes and sing-alongs!

Our Chamber Singers debut this season will be this Sunday at Kawaiha’o Church! Come join us and OCS for some beautiful choral music in Great Romantics! 💌
