Fun day at the Kroc Center!!

This past December HYPE teens enjoyed a field trip to Ice Palace! They also learned some writing tips and wrote about their favorite holidays.

Yesterday, our HYPE teens learned about general first-aid, took first-aid kits with them, and then had lots of fun playing miniature golf!

Our HYPE teens had a great time learning about the dangers of smoking and then ending the day at iTrampoline Hawaii!

HYPE teens had fun learning about college! Topics included types of colleges, advantages of going to college, and an exploration into different career options. We ended the day with a trip to Dave & Busters!

This weekend HYPE teens learned about hygiene! Topics included hand hygiene, the flu season, and dental hygiene. We ended the day with a trip to Ice Palace!!

HYPE keiki had fun learning about sports health with high school intern, Chloe! Important topics included concussions, hydration, muscle groups, and stretching. Thank you to Saige for volunteering!

Sunday was an exciting day with high school interns, Nina, Kyle, Jaimin, and David! Nina talked to HYPE keiki about the history of maracas and drums, helped them make their own instruments, and taught them different patterns to play together. Kyle continued their musical day while teaching them how to read sheet music and how to play a real song on the recorder. Jaimin and David got our keiki active and taught them how to throw a frisbee, as well as the importance of teamwork and communication. Special thanks to our volunteers, Claire, Laurel, Brittni, and Chris!

This summer our high school intern, Mia, taught HYPE keiki about the harmful effects of smoking. Thank you also to volunteers Aly, Chloe, and Kalei!

HYPE keiki had a fun time learning about nutrition and the importance of healthy eating! Thank you to our high school interns, Megan and Chloe, for leading the event and to volunteers, Maya and Audrey, for all their support!

Today our high school interns Laurel and Claire led an awesome summer event for our HYPE keiki! Everyone had fun as we learned about science through experiments mixing oil and water, creating slime, and making our own whipped cream to put on strawberries. Special thanks to volunteers Chloe and Michael for making the day a success.
