To keep in the spirit of anthropology, we will be discussing an anthropological analysis on the film. Everyone is invited, and we hope to see you all there!

The Anthropology Undergraduate Student Association recently had our first event of the year, “Romancing the Stone: A Virtual Introduction to the Art & Study of Lithic/Stone Tool Technology”!

Dr. Peterson, along with a few AUSA members, were knapping live via Zoom from the UHM Archaeology Laboratory. Our audience members were able to learn the basic mechanics of ancient stone tool-making. Thank you everyone for tuning in!

If you are interested in learning more, be sure to check out Dr. Peterson’s upcoming Spring 2022 course, ANTH 473: Lithic Artifact Assemblage Analysis, a combined in-person lecture/lab on the manufacture and analysis of stone tools! Students will engage in stone tool production, working with experimental collections, and learn about the ways in which lithics enlightens us about past human behavior.
