Diamond Bakery site visit with Hokkai Gakuin University students. They presented their research on Diamond Bakery and a local confectionery company in Sapporo. They also learned about the history of the company, its mission, its products, and took a tour of the factory. They got to taste freshly baked animal cookies off the conveyor belt out of the oven!

Kiriko's intermediate class visited Ali'iolani Hale and learned about the transitional time in Hawaii through a mock trial of the case Oni vs. Meek.
Their next stop was Kamaka Hawai'i Inc., a 108 year-old ukulele shop and factory. They saw various unique ukuleles and observed the interesting process of ukulele making.

International Programs of Outreach College hosted the 52nd Urasenke Hawai'i Seminar on July 22 and July 23, 2024. The 15th Generation Grand Master of Urasenke, Dr. Gensh*tsu Sen, spoke on the Urasenke Chado Tradition. He recently celebrated his 101 birthday.
Dr. Christopher McNally of East West Center, Mr. Kota Matsuda, former member of Japan's House of Councilors, and Ms. Makoto Massersmith, JD University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa also gave lectures on various global topics.
