Generation XIII: January 2019 – May 2020
Eligibility
All full-time faculty and APT’s are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to 1 faculty and 1 APT.

Submit an application essay of no more than 2 pages which addresses the following:
Your demonstrated leadership or interest in developing leadership skills
Your commitment to putting learning first
Your commitment to innovation
Your commitment to sharing knowledge and expertise
Benefits
Receive a $2,000.00 stipend for your own professional development good for the life of your University of Hawaii career.
Travel, meet, and network with other Wo Learning Champions (WoLC’s) through the UHCC system
Refine your leadership and organizational skills
Duties
Develop and conduct system-wide professional development activities
Commit to mentorship
Network with previous generation WoLC’s
Attend monthly WoLC’s meetings during the Fall & Spring semesters, neighbor island travel is required and funded
Enhance your own professional development
Engage in collaborative, collegial campus and system activities
Coordinate two system-wide professional development events in partnership with HSSI
Be the ambassador of the WoLC initiative on your campus
Serve an 18-month term from January 2019 to May 2020
A selection committee of former WoLC’s will review all nominations and will announce the two new Wo Learning Champions in November.

Mahalo to David Tsugawa for coordinating the learning opportunity for us. Dr. Richard Stevens for sharing his reforestation journey with us. We learned about the Lama and wiliwli trees' cultural significance and uses. We learned how to make and wear Kihei (A kihei is a rectangular cloak, traditionally tapa, tied in a knot over one shoulder.) by one of University of Hawaii's own graduates!
