1️⃣ Pier 38 is home to the Honolulu Fish Auction—the heartbeat of the Commercial Fishing Village and the only fresh tuna auction of its kind in the United States. The auction has been around in one form or another for 100 years and has been managed by the United Fishing Agency since 1952.

2️⃣ In addition to the auction, the Fishing Village brings together fishing vessels, fishing supply and support companies, seafood wholesalers, and restaurants all in one convenient location. Completion of the Fishing Village in 2004 demonstrates a long-term commitment in Hawaii to sustaining our fisheries, local food production, and culture.

3️⃣ Hungry? The Village is also home to several popular waterfront restaurants and fish markets. and are two newer additions well worth the visit. While and Nico’s Fish Market are long time local favorites. And for those looking for a refined dining experience with evening views of the harbor, you’ll find it next door
