Mid-Pacific Institute was established through the 1908 merger of Kawaiaha'o Seminary for Girls, founded in 1864, and Mills Institute for Boys, founded in 1892. For well over a century, Mid-Pacific Institute has been equipping its graduates with the knowledge, skills and character necessary to achieve success not just in college, but in life itself.

Little hands, limitless creativity! As part of Mid-Pacific’s integrated arts learning from preschool through Grade 12, our kindergartners teamed up with high school students from Mr. Hee’s MPSA ceramics class to explore hand-building techniques in the Art Pavilion.

Together, they shaped clay, shared ideas, and let their imaginations lead the way.

A new chapter for Mid-Pacific!

On Saturday, we celebrated the grand opening of our brand new track and field facility and the revitalization of Wailele Spring! It was a beautiful day filled with excitement and pride as the Mid-Pacific community came together to celebrate this incredible milestone.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this vision a reality and excited for all the memories, milestones, and moments that will take place here for years to come.

A special honor for a Mid-Pacific legend.

The Honolulu City Council recently recognized Donald “Coach Bo” Botelho with an Honorary Certificate, celebrating his remarkable contributions as an athlete, coach and leader in Hawai‘i athletics.

Coach Bo led Pac-5 to two Prep Bowl championships in 1982 and 1985, served as Mid-Pacific’s athletic director for 28 years, and later served as executive director of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH).

Family members, former coaches and staff were in attendance to help celebrate a legacy defined by leadership, dedication and aloha. Also helping mark the occasion were Mid-Pacific alumni and Honolulu City Councilmembers Scott Nishimoto ’92, Matt Weyer ’06, and Radiant Cordero ’08.

We hope that everyone is safe and doing well after the storm. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prioritized the safety of our community by closing campus today due to Hurricane Lowell passing the islands overnight. We are happy to share that our campus fared very well and sustained no damage. We will reopen campus tomorrow, Wednesday, September 9. All classes and on- and off-campus activities will resume as regularly scheduled.
