This week, we are proud to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week across all five of our campus locations! Our dedicated teachers are the heart of our schools, and we are excited to spend the week showing them just how much they are valued.
We kicked off the celebration today with coffee and donuts to fuel a great start to the week, and we have many more special treats planned to honor their hard work and commitment to our students.
We would love for our families to join us in this celebration. Each campus has a dedicated station set up for you to write or drop off letters of appreciation for your child’s teachers. All letters will be shared with our educators at the end of the week to help them feel the collective gratitude of our community.

Storm Closure: Friday, April 10, 2026
We have just been informed the evening of Thursday 4/9 that Oahu public schools will be closed Friday, April 10th, due to the storm, and The Cole Academy will be following suit and closing our Oahu locations as well. This is due to extreme wind, heavy rain and potentially flooded roads. Our priority is balancing safety with service, and the current weather projections indicate that conditions will be unsafe for our families and staff to commute.
We remain attentive to government and education agency directives and will continue to notify families via Lineleader and email regarding any further updates.
We fully anticipate being open on Monday, April 13th and beyond, barring any serious damage at any single campus.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we navigate these stormy conditions. Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you next week.

What have we here? A leprechaun on the loose! Our little scientists and detectives in Kailua helped track down who could have left behind this trail of glitter and green footprints and jewels near the St. Patty's Day leprechaun enclosure. Much fun was had making rainbows after the rain, too.

Storm Closure: Friday, March 13, 2026: The Cole Academy will be closed Friday, March 13th, due to the storm, predicted flooded roads and unsafe travel conditions.
Our priority is balancing safety with service, and the current weather projections indicate that conditions will be unsafe for our families and staff to commute. The state also announced a statewide DOE closure for Friday.
Early Pickup Request: Thursday, March 12, 2026
We will remain open today until all children are picked up; however, we ask that you arrange for pickup as early as possible. Weather and road conditions are expected to deteriorate throughout the afternoon, and we want to ensure all of our children, families, and staff members are able to reach home safely before conditions worsen.
We remain attentive to government and education agency directives and will continue to notify families via Lineleader and email regarding any further updates.
We fully anticipate being open on Monday, March 16th and beyond, barring any serious damage at any single campus.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we navigate these stormy conditions. Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you next week.

STORM WATCH! In advance of the approaching storm, The Cole Academy will be mindful of balancing safety with the delivery of the essential service of childcare. Closure is a possibility if conditions worsen statewide, or if localized conditions or damages impact any particular campus operability.
We will notify families via Lineleader and email in case of closure ahead of a school day. In any urgent-emergency situation that occurs same-day requiring immediate closure, we will also also reach out via all means of communication available and functional including phone, text and/or email.
We will be watching for conditions that could impact the safety of our families and staff, not only at school but on commutes to the campus. We remain attentive to government and education agency directives as to any potential closures. As soon as we have information that could lead to closure on any storm-affected weekday, we will do our best to inform all families and staff as soon as possible.
Generally speaking, when there are systemwide Department of Education closures, our childcare centers follow suit. For more localized impacts, we will make as timely determinations as possible on a campus-by-campus basis.
Thank you for your understanding, and wishing you a restful-though-wet weekend despite the stormy weather ahead.
