Speaker Spotlight: Blade Shepherd-Jones a Certified National Geographic Educator, is committed to inspiring the next generation of scientists, explorers, educators and storytellers. Earlier in the year, this Oahu middle school teacher who never saw snow was awarded the Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship, and traveled to the Arctic circle with other educators to enhance their geographic knowledge with hands-on, field-based experiences to bring back to their classrooms.

Of the experience, Shepherd-Jones shared that he doesn't "want to be stagnant as a teacher. I’m always looking for new opportunities to make my teaching better or more relevant, and this is a great way to get fresh ideas."
