Hawaiʻi just recognized 30 newly National Board Certified Teachers, bringing the state's total to 569 NBCTs.

The April 11 celebration at the Honolulu Country Club brought together educators from across the islands, along with state legislators and education leaders, to honor the work these educators put in to earn the most respected professional certification available in K-12 education.

Superintendent Keith Hayashi said it best: "Their commitment reflects what we all believe in: making sure every student in Hawaiʻi has access to a high-quality education and real opportunities for success."

On Saturday, April 11, NBCTs from across the state were recognized at the Honolulu Country Club. The Hawaiʻi Legislature has advanced HB 1893 to the Senate. If signed into law, this bill could double the annual bonus for National Board Certified Teachers from $5,000 to $10,000 — and extend eligibility to public charter school teachers for the first time. Hawaiʻi is !
