In 2009, we embarked on a mission to preserve and promote the Samoan language by founding Le Fetuao Samoan Language School in the State of Hawai’i. As our vision and impact grew, the school was renamed Le Fetuao Samoan Language Center in 2013, reflecting our expanded commitment to language, culture, and community. Le Fetuao SLC even cared for American Samoans & Samoans during COVID repatriation in Hawai’i, in an effort to assist the State of Hawaii and American Samoa Government.

Over the years, Le Fetuao Samoan Language Center has become a model program in the State of Hawaii and a source of inspiration for Samoan language preservation efforts throughout the U.S. diaspora. Through education, cultural pride, and community engagement, we continue to empower future generations to embrace their Samoan heritage and ensure that our language and traditions endure for years to come.

In Loving Memory of FETUAO ASIATA TUPO, a teacher who inspired many because of her love & advocacy work for Samoa to preserve, maintain and revive its language & culture.

FETUAO was a devoted educator who dedicated more than 30 years of her life to teaching with the American Samoa Department of Education. Throughout her career, she inspired generations of students with her wisdom, compassion, and unwavering commitment to education.

A woman of remarkable creativity and vision, she co-founded the Le Fetuao Samoan Language School in the State of Hawaiʻi. The school was proudly named in her honor, reflecting her deep love for the Samoan language, culture, and heritage. She lived the Samoan way of life with pride and worked tirelessly to preserve and share those traditions with future generations.

FETUAO's passion for teaching and her dedication to her community left a lasting impact on countless lives. Her legacy will continue through the students she taught, the educators she inspired, and the cultural heritage she helped preserve.

FETUAO's final wish was to return home to American Samoa, where she can be laid to rest beside her beloved husband and daughter.

Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help bring FETUAO home to the place she loved most. Your generosity and kindness during this difficult time are deeply appreciated. Thank you for helping us honor her life, her legacy, and her final wish.

A foundation to honor her legacy will be developed to support students of Le Fetuao Samoan Language Center & College Students pursuing Samoan Linguistics Study.
