Happy Affirmation Monday Mommas☺️

My love and excitement for my baby is growing✨

I created this affirmation because as much as it is wonderful news to be expecting a baby…..Sometimes that is just not the case for some Mommas….

In my experience, some pregnancies I was not fu**in happy with at first…I was scared, anxious and fearful of what our future will hold…

And there is no shame in feeling this way. Does that make you a bad mom? A bad person? F**k no!

IT MAKES YOU HUMAN❤️

Maybe when you first found out you were expecting you maybe felt a similar way?

And as time goes on that might change? You feel your baby move and kick for the first time….You hear your babies heartbeat for the first time….or you notice that your baby is really active when a certain someone is around? It could be your birthing partner, a friend, your sister or another family member….

Whatever your situation, your love and excitement for your baby can grow❤️

For me I loved eating hot sauce with my pancakes and syrup!

For a good minute I craved bagel sandwiches WITH a whole pickle on the side 🤤

And I even cried over spicy fried chicken!!! Like CRIED CRIED. And if you’ve ever been pregnant I’m sure you understand why I was crying 👀😂

Just like a goal without a plan is just a wish…..so are affirmations without ACTION behind it….

Okay, what the f**k does that mean?

You can say all the affirmations you choose to do/say all the time. And yes, maybe in the moment it feels good and maybe even empowering? But does that make any difference?

Without actually taking action behind the affirmation, that is the only thing you will experience is that 5 seconds of saying them and that’s it.

NOW, imagine combining those affirmations AND taking action….

What does that look like?

Maybe going out for a walk for 30 mins to prep your body and mind for childbirth, maybe doing your research on what delayed cord clamping is, maybe it’s looking around shopping for a care provider who has the same beliefs of childbirth as you do and will support you in your vision, maybe it’s sitting down with your birthing partner and having that tough uncomfortable conversation you both been avoiding and maybe it’s actually taking a childbirth preparation class…..

YES. You absolutely can have the childbirth you desire and envision yourself having….That also requires you to put in the ACTION part too❤️

Birth is a LIFE event, it is a huge milestone in a Mommas life and her family, it is the most sacred act of love and should be treated as such….

But when you are uneducated and don’t know your options and choices you don’t know HOW to advocate not only for yourself as the birthing mother/father/partner but also for your baby.

What would it look like if you went into your birth educated, informed and empowered? Can you imagine the difference that would make?

Childbirth is a Partnership!

Somewhere down the line there was a belief created that childbirth was the expecting Mothers responsibility and she had to do it all on her own……that the birthing partner/husband/father didn’t have to do anything to support his birthing mother?……

Well y’all this is a big fat lie and we are going to crush and dismantle that belief…

Just like when creating a baby and new life IT TAKES 2…..not 1….but 2 people to come together and create this amazing miracle……

The same thing goes for birth…..you BOTH will be welcoming new life to this world…

Now how can your birthing partner learn to better support you? GET EDUCATED! Take child birth preparation classes TOGETHER….Ask questions…do research!

There are so many tools for you to utilize to make this childbirth an intimate and profound life event❤️

How do you build your confidence in your birthing body?

One way is by getting EDUCATED!

What exactly is happening in your body during labor and birth?

How can you work WITH your body to maximize the most comfort during labor and birth?

Being educated in physiological birth can help you build your confidence in your birthing body and also empower you to birth the way YOU feel is right for you and your baby/s.

Come back tomorrow while I demonstrate what is happening in the uterus during labor. This is an exercise I love to do in my classes with my birthing mothers and their chosen partners/spouses.

Birth has an incredible design, when you educate yourself and understand what is happening, you build your confidence within yourself and your baby.

For my mommies who have experienced a positive, empowering, mother led birth, how many times have you been asked “omg can you tell me all about your birth?”

How many times have you shared your positive birthing story and got the “look” from other women? By the “look” I’m talking about the face women make when you share your positive story after everyone else just shared their horror birthing story. The look that says “how dare you share your positive birth story?” “She’s just trying to show off🙄”

Listen Momma….they may not know it yet but by you sharing your amazing experience, it is actually Healing for other women as a collective.

Everything I know now; I wish I knew back then.....

18, pregnant and I had NO CLUE what was in store for me.

I remember just living on auto pilot during my pregnancy. I didn't really think about giving birth. I would look up videos on youtube and just watch childbirth videos of other women giving birth and that was about it.

Taking classes to prepare for birth or even just the thought of "I needed to prepare" was not in question. I felt this pressure of just because I was a Woman, I "should" already "know" how to do this? I just show up to the hospital and pop this baby out. Right?

Boooyyyy was I in for the RIDE OF MY LIFE......

ENDORPHINS!! Let's talk about how it is related to you during pregnancy and birth and how you can use this to your advantage!

Did you know that your body produces Endorphins?

Endorphins are a chemical messenger in your body. This is often known as the "feel-good" chemical and your body's natural pain/stress reliever or happiness/relaxant booster!

When you are intimate with your partner and your body begins to feel all these sensations? That is exactly what your body is releasing, ENDORPHINS!

Your body can release endorphins at any time. Not only during intimacy and s*x but also in exercising, eating, dancing, listening to music, meditation, aromatherapy, getting a massage, laughing, creating, watching entertainment, movies, being in nature, eating chocolate and so so so much more!

In other words, the same way you got baby in, is the same way you are going to get baby out!

By practicing the Relaxation Techniques, I teach you in my Hypnobirthing class you will learn how you can birth your baby in a calm, joyous and relaxed environment releasing these endorphins so you can have a gentle and instinctive birth with little to no medical intervention.

While practicing when you a pregnant this will also help you whenever you need it to calm your body and boost your comfort levels!
