Pac-STEP 2024: Closing yet another successful season for NSTI
Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Roger Chen concluded the Pac-STEP 2024 with review of how this program, has grown over the years followed by the participants showcasing their complete street designs encouraging the sponsors to extend their support for Pac-STEP.

Pac-STEP 2024: Complete Street Design Charette
With the power of 3D Modelling app Sketchup taught by Rahul Bhargav Kaushik Barthakur, the participant took the challenge of rethinking two important connecting streets in urban Honolulu: Isenberg St. and Cooke St. to make safe and convenient. Final Design was reviewed by Tamlyn Horiuchi - Pac-STEP 2022 Alumna.

Pac-STEP 2024: Pavement Lab at Holmes Hall, University of Hawaii at Manoa:
Going deep into the engineering of street making, participants learnt the science of latest developments in pavement design and engineering at the Pavement Lab led by Dr. Adrian Ricardo Archilla.

Pac-STEP 2024: Kailua Intersection Tour
Complete Street Expert Michael Packard came to the Kailua Intersection explained the participants how crossroads across the island are now reshaping themselves to ensure road safety all users and saving lives.

Pac-STEP 2024: Kailua Bicycle Safety Training and Ride by Hawaii Bicycle League:
Yet again the collaboration with Hawaii Bicycle League’s Maila Harunuga, all attendees this year could take part in the safety training for biking on the roads followed by the scenic biking trip to the Kailua Beach Park and Intersection.

Pac-STEP 2024: Bicycle League ’s “Learn to Ride” Training
Select Seven Participants were offered biking training by Malia Harunuga of Hawaii Bicycling League to improve the skills and confidence of the participants who needed the training to participate in Biking at Kailua.

Pac-STEP 2024: Industry Trip to SSFM International’s Head Office:
One of the leading engineering firms on the island hosted the participants with an exciting way to explore insight into not only the firm operations, professional engineering practice but also transportation concept.

Pac-STEP 2024: Trip to and
HDOT’s Airport Division welcomed participants to the newly renovated Terminal 1 exclusively for Hawaiian Airlines, where carriers pilots and cabin crew gave a comprehensive tour of the craft followed by a visit to Terminal 3’s renovation project.

Pac-STEP 2024: Site Visit to Kapalama Container Terminal of Honolulu Port:
HDOT’s Honolulu Port opened its doors to the participants to see the ongoing construction project at Kapalama Container Terminal – one of the largest container terminals on the island viewed from the observation tower.
