For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.

The throne of God is the seat of Divine Power and the source of boundless grace. God's goodness is extended to all who come, and in any "time of need"; everything is made possible by the Cross.

On Mother's Day, we take time to recognise all the strong moms who have come before us - both past and present - all across the world. We'd want to express our gratitude and admiration for the mothers who stepped in and molded their children throughout their daily lives.

Being a strong mother has absolutely nothing to do with one's physical strength or stamina. In truth, they don't come labeled or living in a perfect world. They may be single women, they may be married women. Strong mothers may have one child, or they may have ten. You may find them working three jobs, or teaching their children at home full-time. Mothers may have professional degrees, or minimal education, but that doesn't make them any less competent in what they do!

Being a mother is incredibly difficult but rewarding. Good times and bad times go together to create unrepeatable moments that are enjoyable because you get through them with your family. Although it may be tough at the time, as mothers, you'll have plenty of moments in which you discover new feelings that you never knew existed.

Action is the foundational key to all success. If you want to achieve any meaningful result in life, you must take action. Think of the best salesmen in the world. They did not get to where they are by talking about it, they did it. Even if you don't get it right the first few times you try, you will learn from your mistakes and make progress towards your goal. If you want to be successful in life, you need to take action.

Our first and most important mission field is our children, and if we fail here, we will have suffered our greatest defeat.

Today, the most important mission field is our children's hearts. Today, forces more sinister than jungle vipers and more lethal than medicine-resistant malaria are vying for our children's attention. Our children represent both our greatest challenge and our most important mission field.

How do we deal with the evil forces that threaten them? Turn off the television and make an effort to include them in your overburdened schedule. Why not give them the gift yourself? Yes, but there's more to it.

Values in life are caught rather than taught. The only thing that will get kids through the jungle out there is the gift of parental love—the strong kind that includes caring enough to be there and provide discipline and guidance until the children are old enough to make good decisions.

The keynote in this passage is "peace." Every believer can now enjoy the tremendous fruit of this promise by keeping our minds focused on Christ and what He has done for us on the cross. This shows total and complete trust.

Only those who fix their eyes on God can effectively negotiate the right pace of life.
