Our first Lower School Assembly of the year brought Kindergarten through 5th Grade together for a morning filled with tradition, leadership, and laughter.

Our 5th graders stepped into their role as Lower School leaders for their first time, helping lead the Pledge and setting the tone for the year ahead. During our first Manners Moment, students talked about kindness, acceptance, and the little things we can all do to make sure everyone feels seen, included, and welcome especially at the start of a new school year.

And then our favorite monthly tradition: Birthday Heroes! 🥳🦆 Our 5th graders celebrated every August birthday by handing out rubber ducks.

Add in plenty of fun courtesy of Mr. Smith, and we’d say our first assembly checked all the boxes.

Leadership. Kindness. Community. Celebration. And a few rubber ducks.

It’s been a great week for college connections at Prep! 🎓

This week, our Upper School students had the opportunity to connect with representatives from The University of Tennessee, the University of South Carolina, and Wofford College right here on campus asking questions, exploring opportunities, and learning more about what each university has to offer.

But these visits are about more than learning about a college. They’re about building relationships before the application process ever begins.

At Prep, college counseling doesn’t start senior year. Our College Counseling team works intentionally to build relationships with colleges and universities while creating opportunities for our students to make connections of their own. That early exposure helps students better understand their options, discover what they’re looking for in a college experience, and approach the application process with greater confidence.

When application season arrives, our students aren’t starting from scratch. They’ve been asking questions, making connections, exploring possibilities, and preparing for what comes next.

Yesterday, senior Zoe Biles kicked off our senior speech series at our annual Clubs and Community Service Fair delivering her encouraging words about getting involved and finding her passion for helping others.

The annual Clubs and Community Service Fair was buzzing today! Held since 2022 and including over 33 local clubs and partner organizations representing a wide variety of institutions serving all over Hilton Head and Beaufort County, the Fair gives Upper Schoolers the chance to discover ways to give back in their local communities.

Zoe Biles ‘27, delivered the event’s keynote address and earned a standing ovation from the entire gymnasium following her heartfelt speech, which outlined her own service journey. From freshman year tutoring to creating her original “Warm Hearts, Full Plates” project, which has provided hundreds of winter coats and jackets to children and holiday meals to families in need on Hilton Head Island.

Following Zoe’s speech, students were encouraged to spend the next 20 minutes taking a look at ways they can invest their time, talents, and interests in helping others.

Ask your Upper School student who they connected with and which clubs or community organizations they are looking forward to working with this school year! We hope the Fair provides just a small stepping stone in their own journey towards writing their high school story.

🎻 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄? 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝗹𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗹𝗱!

Through our Pre-Twinkle program, young students are introduced to the foundations of the Suzuki violin method developing rhythm, listening skills, coordination, focus, and confidence long before they ever play their first full song.

From their first introduction to an instrument to the day they take the stage, our students have opportunities to explore their interests, discover new talents, and build skills that grow right alongside them.

Suzuki violin begins at 3 years old in our Montessori program and strings begins at the kindergarten for our students in lower school.

Because at Prep, we believe big opportunities should start small. ❤️🐬

𝗔𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲, 𝘄𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀. 𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

As the only independent school on Hilton Head Island serving students from 15 months through 12th grade, there’s something pretty special about growing up on a campus where your role models aren’t just faces you see from the stands. They’re the big kids opening their car doors, giving them high fives in the hallway and showing them what it means to lead by example.

Today, they’re the little ones beaming up at our Varsity athletes. Someday, they’ll be the ones holding the door for the next generation.

Once a Dolphin, always a Dolphin.

From the halls of Prep to the skies above Florida, Finnian Rooney ‘26 is taking on an exciting next chapter at Florida Tech, where he is studying Aeronautical Science while working toward earning a commercial pilot license.

It’s an impressive path that combines rigorous academics with hands-on flight training, preparing Finnian for a future career in aviation and quite literally taking learning to new heights.

We’re incredibly proud to have him representing Prep at Florida Tech and can’t wait to see where this journey takes him.

The sky is just the beginning, Finnian! ✈️🐬
