I’ve spent a lot of my life chasing the next thing.

The next stage.
The next opportunity.
The next flight.
The next big idea.
The next version of myself.

And somewhere along the way, I realized something…

It’s kinda chic to actually LOVE the life you’re building. 🩷

It’s kinda chic to be a badass.
To take the trip.
To teach what you know and watch someone else fly because of it.
To celebrate how far you’ve come without apologizing for being proud.
To work hard AND have a life.
To laugh at yourself.
To love your people fiercely.
To have the best little four legged sidekick.
To keep dreaming bigger; even when everyone else thinks you’ve already done enough.

I used to think success was about proving something.

Now I think success is waking up and realizing you created a life that actually feels like yours.

Not perfect. Not always glamorous. Definitely not always planned. 😂

But full.

Full of people I love.
Work that means something.
Places that remind me how big the world is.
Students who become leaders.
Conversations that change me.
And dreams I’m still crazy enough to chase.

And maybe THAT is the chicest thing of all.

There are a handful of things I know I do exceptionally well, and it’s not because my ego is parading around town. It’s because I’ve been in the industry of beauty, health, wellness and fashion for over twenty six years with experience, credibility and care for my clients, mentees, colleagues, brands and partners so they can get real tangible results.

I’ve helped stylists turn their talents into businesses. I’ve helped founders grow companies, students start with an idea and grow a brand. I’ve built partnerships, opened doors, and connected people who went on to do incredible things together.

At the end of the day, that’s what I love most: helping ambitious people build something that lasts. Something meaningful, something they have passion for.

Keeping it REAL and rememberable …….

One of the greatest rewards in this industry isn’t standing on the stage yourself; it’s helping others find the confidence to step onto theirs.

Throughout my career, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to learn from mentors who challenged me, believed in me, and expanded my vision of what was possible. Today, one of my greatest passions is paying that forward by helping elevate the next generation of beauty professionals.

This past weekend, I had the privilege of leading and directing the Ulta Beauty Collective on the Main Stage at Premiere Orlando. Watching a group of talented artists come together to tell powerful stories through hair, beauty, fashion, culture, and creativity reminded me why mentorship matters so much. Our industry grows stronger when we share knowledge, create opportunities, and open doors for others to rise.

Moments like these become even more meaningful when you witness someone you’ve mentored achieve incredible success. I couldn’t be more proud of Galyna and her achievement at the Professional Beauty Association NAHA Awards. To see her artistry recognized on one of the industry’s biggest stages is a testament to her talent, dedication, work ethic, and commitment to excellence.

Mentorship isn’t about creating followers. It’s about helping people discover their own voice, build their confidence, and step fully into their potential.

The future of our industry is bright because of artists like Galyna and so many others who continue to push boundaries, inspire creativity, and remind us all what’s possible when talent meets opportunity.

Today feels different; energized, aligned, exciting!

There are seasons where we grind…where we’re tested… where we’re stretched so far we wonder if we’ll ever snap back into who we used to be.

And then there are seasons like this one.

The beginning of the Year of the Fire Horse isn’t just about speed or power. It’s about momentum with purpose. It’s about the kind of inner fire that was built quietly. The inner fire that molds through discipline, heartbreak, reinvention, courage, and those nights you kept believing when it would’ve been easier to quit.

You’ve had enough lessons. You did the work.
You rebuilt. You chose growth over comfort.
You held the vision even when it felt distant.

That matters.

It’s Sunday… and whew, it is 🥶 cold!!! It’s “wrap up in five layers and still feel a draft” cold here in SC; almost everywhere in the United States. 🇺🇸 🥶

And honestly, it got me thinking about how the world can feel like that too sometimes… a little icy, a little sharp, a little quick to judge.

That’s why I keep coming back to this; practice the pause.

Because the pause is where you get your power back. It’s that tiny space between what happens and how you respond; where you get to breathe, reflect, and choose kindness and grace, even when it would be easier to react.

Sometimes practicing the pause looks like:
• taking one deep breath before you respond
• softening your tone
• giving someone the benefit of the doubt
• choosing peace over proving a point

Today I’m reminding myself: I don’t want to add to the cold. I want to be the warmth.

If you needed a sign to slow down and lead with grace; this is it. 🤍 Happy Sunday and god bless to all 🕊️
