Neighborhood Outreach Connection

Neighborhood Outreach Connection NOC’s mission is to help those living in low income neighborhoods overcome poverty.

Our programs focus on three areas of work: education, workforce development, and health education and services. For example, NOC partners with Beaufort County School District in several of our education programs to provide after school support to roughly 160 children in Hilton Head and Bluffton, as well as a preschool program serving an additional 40 children and their parents. To address workforc

e development, NOC partners with Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry, providing English classes at locations within our neighborhoods. In health, we collaborate with Beaufort-Jasper Comprehensive Health Servcies and Beaufort Memorial Health, among others, to bring health education classes and health services/screenings to facilities in the neighborhoods where we work.

GETTING READY FOR FRIDAY ENRICHMENT!

Our 4th and 5th grade students at NOC Lowcountry are getting a head start on Friday Enrichment by creating their own NOC Currency!

Beginning in September, students can earn currency through classroom roles, positive behavior, participation, responsibility, teamwork, and following expectations.

During a special workshop, they will use what they have earned to “purchase” prizes, school supplies, and other items—all while learning about earning, saving, budgeting, decision-making, and working toward a goal.

Friday Enrichment is almost here, and our students are ready to learn, earn, and save!

NOC, in partnership with Compassion Christian Church in Bluffton, recently hosted a “Getting to Know Your Neighbors” Community Event for a neighborhood we serve.

This special event gave us the opportunity to connect with our neighbors, build relationships, and let families know that we are here to support and serve them. Families enjoyed food, fellowship, and time together, while the children had a wonderful time participating in activities—especially the piñatas!

It is through strong, shared community partnerships that we can build trust, strengthen neighborhoods, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families.

We are grateful to Compassion Christian Church for partnering with NOC to serve our neighbors and our community.

NOC sincerely thanks Port Royal Plantation on Hilton Head Island for donating gift cards to help our families purchase school uniforms and other basic necessities for the new school year.

When children begin school with the clothing they need, they feel more confident, prepared, and ready to focus on learning. We appreciate your generosity and commitment to giving back to neighbors in our community!

NOC wrapped up another wonderful summer by celebrating our amazing students with fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories!

Students at NOC's Waters at Ribaut Summer Learning Program in downtown Beaufort celebrated the end of summer with a cookout, games, water activities, and plenty of smiles. Thanks to the love and support of the Waters at Ribaut team, along with generous donors and volunteers, every child enjoyed water guns, bubbles, buckets, sidewalk chalk, and many other fun surprises.

A special thank you to Atlantic Housing Foundation for providing burgers and hot dogs for the cookout. Your generosity helped create a joyful day our children will remember for years to come.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration—and another successful summer of learning—possible. Together, we are building brighter futures for children and families in our community.

NOC's Cordillo Learning Center on Hilton Head had an exciting summer filled with hands-on learning and outdoor adventures! Students spent time exploring nature and caring for their garden, where they were thrilled to harvest peas, cucumbers, and tomatoes they had grown themselves.

They also put their STEM skills to work by designing and building balloon-powered vehicles, learning about science and engineering through fun, creative challenges.

A special thank you to the Beaufort County Library Bookmobile for making regular visits and ensuring every student had great books to read, enjoy, and share with our volunteers. It was a summer full of learning, discovery, and growth!

Dunk the Program Manager!

Our students at NOC's Waters at Ribaut Learning Center in downtown Beaufort had a blast celebrating summer by taking turns dunking Program Manager Ms. Jevona!

At NOC, we're fortunate to have dedicated staff like Ms. Jevona who make learning fun, engaging, and something our students look forward to each day. Her willingness to join in the fun made for lots of laughter, smiles, and a memorable way to celebrate a successful summer of learning.

We appreciate your energy, dedication, and the joy you bring to NOC every day!

At NOC Old Town Learning Center in Bluffton, our students stayed engaged this summer building important academic skills and having fun! They practiced telling time, challenged each other in Jeopardy, explored through scavenger hunts, expressed their creativity with art projects, and continued learning to help prevent the summer slide.

Most importantly, our students brought smiles, enthusiasm, and excitement to the program each day, making this summer a wonderful experience for everyone involved!

We appreciate our donors, funders, and partners for supporting our families!
