Having an emergency plan is important, but practicing it is what makes the difference! 🚨

Policies and procedures shouldn't just live in a handbook. Regular training and practice help ensure your team knows how to respond when an emergency happens.

Preparation builds confidence, and confidence can save lives.

NEW EPISODE! Early Childhood Chats Special Edition

We sat down with immigration attorney Yi Lee to talk about something every early childhood program needs to understand right now: your constitutional rights, how to respond if federal agents show up, and how to support the families you serve.

Whether you're Head Start, private childcare, or a church-based preschool, your rights are the same. This episode explains exactly what they are and what to do with them.

Today we remember the lives lost and forever changed on October 1, 2017, in Las Vegas. We hold the survivors, families, and first responders in our hearts.

09/30/2026

Content note: This episode discusses a mass shooting and recovery from traumatic injury.

Lacey Newman survived the Las Vegas shooting in 2017. In our newest Early Childhood Chats episode, she talks about the friends and strangers who helped save her life, what it was like coming home to her little boy, and how she found purpose in helping teachers and caregivers feel prepared instead of scared.

"Be prepared. Because you never know what's going to happen."

It first ran in our free Protecting Children series and is now on the podcast. Please take care of yourself if this topic is heavy for you.
