The HCS Fall 2020 Return-to-School Plan and Return-to-School Family Survey can be accessed at - http://www.hampton.k12.va.us/reopening/reopening.html. HCS staff received an employee survey link via email.

This plan contains four specific phases regarding the reopening of HCS schools for fall 2020. Please know the purpose of the return-to-school plan is not to communicate which phase in which we will open school in the fall. Rather, this plan outlines how the school division will operate under each possible phase of reopening schools. We plan to communicate to families and staff during the week of July 27, 2020, the phase in which our schools will open for the 2020-2021 school year, with considerations given to any pertinent information available from state and local agencies at that time.

Each phase of the plan takes into account guidance from the Governor’s Office, Virginia Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Virginia Department of Education. Within each phase, we outlined options for families as well as identified strategies and measures in the following categories: Teaching & Learning, Operations & Support, and Co/Extra-Curricular & Athletics. Also, each phase of the plan includes Frequently Asked Questions.

Along with this plan, we are requesting that our families complete our Fall 2020 Return-to-School Survey (https://bit.ly/2ZtThTY) by 5:00 p.m. on July 6, 2020. Your feedback will assist in further strengthening the plan.
