Our 5th graders are soo lucky!! They were gifted tickets to tomorrow’s Hampton University Football Game! 🏈 🏈. What a nice treat to end the first week of school.

Welcome Back, HCS!

On behalf of the Hampton School Board, we are excited to welcome our students, families, teachers, and staff to the 2026–2027 school year!

As our students return to classrooms, we are reminded of what makes Hampton City Schools so special—the dedicated educators and staff who believe in our young people, the families who partner with us, and most importantly, the more than 19,000 students who inspire us every day.

A new school year brings new opportunities to learn, grow, build relationships, and achieve great things. We are incredibly proud of the accomplishments of our school division and look forward to building upon that success together.

To our students: work hard, dream big, ask questions, and make the most of every opportunity this year brings. To our HCS staff: thank you for the passion, care, and commitment you bring to our schools each day. And to our families and community: thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Our teachers kicked off our open house with a celebration luncheon to honor our phenomenal Mrs. Miller, HCS Teacher of the year! We had delicious food, her family and work family all celebrated together. Mrs. Miller was presented with two items from her teacher wish list courtesy of the PTA.
