🍍This week’s featured disability small business: Smile Farms is a nonprofit organization creating meaningful training and work opportunities for people with developmental disabilities through agriculture, hospitality, and community engagement. We believe in the power of work because it provides pride, purpose, confidence, and personal growth.
Our social enterprise, Heat with Heart Hot Sauce, is made with hot and sweet peppers grown and harvested by Smile Farmers at garden campuses across Long Island and New York City. Today, Smile Farms supports and trains more than 400 Smile Farmers through partnerships with schools, hospitals, and disability service organizations.
Smile Farms was founded by the McCann family and is the proud philanthropic partner of 1-800-Flowers.com. What started as a small garden project has grown into a network of campuses focused on creating inclusive opportunities, building job skills, and helping people of all abilities feel connected to their communities through meaningful work.
