I generally stick to themes that are tangible in my students' lives, but I couldn't resist adding a dinosaur unit when I saw how interested they are in dinos each year. It gave us an opportunity to measure dinosaurs, do collaborative writing about dinosaurs, and make playdough imprints of dinosaurs. They can never get over the fact that all the dinosaurs have died, but that opens up the door to hypothesize about how that happened. We've got several paleontologists in the making!

Theme 3 was COLORS. We learned sign language for color words. We explored mixing colors. We painted a rainbow on our letter R. We introduced graphing by sorting fruit loop colors (this takes some serious self-restraint for these kiddos to not just eat all the fruit loops!).

A is for Apple! We stamped apples in two different ways--one to see the profile, and one to see the star of seeds in the middle.

We exercised our fine motor skills by pressing toothpicks into apples on the marked dots...and maybe a few extra spots just for fun.

This group of students LOVED our "Picking Apples" song. We picked all the apples super duper fast!

If you need your child to have additional daycare/preschool time after Tiny Tots, this year I’m picking up from Tiny Tots Laguna Town Hall on Monday-Thursday at 11:30.

I provide lunch, and then on Tues/Thurs from 12:30-2:30 we have our regular preschool time.

Pick-up at my home is 2:30, or 2:45/3 on Wednesdays.

Welcome to Miss Jenna’s Preschool!

My preschool class runs Tuesday/Thursday from 12:30-2:30. Breaks follow the traditional school schedule. We do play-based learning including free choice centers, dramatic play, music & movement, and outdoor play. The best ages are 3-5. Licensing requires they be vaccinated.

With my own children now attending school full-day, my hours are extending and I have more flexibility for extended day care hours. Generally I’m available Monday-Thursday from 9-3. Please reach out with what you need and I’ll let you know if I can make it work.
