Summer routines do not need to be perfect to make a difference. Small daily habits can help children stay confident, focused, and prepared while still enjoying their summer break.

Creating structure through learning time, bedtime routines, and everyday responsibilities can help strengthen independence and positive habits that continue long after summer ends.

We’re highlighting our instructor Jenn from Kumon of Edison North as she shares how proud she is of her student, Ava. ⭐️💙
From starting Kumon at just four years old to now reaching the final level of the reading program, Ava’s journey is a great example of what consistency and dedication can accomplish over time. Even while traveling to Paris on vacation, Ava continued her Kumon work and stayed committed to her daily practice.
We love celebrating students like Ava who continue to show perseverance, independence, and a strong love for learning wherever they go.

Think your child is already too busy for Kumon? Let's actually break down how much time they need: just 15 to 20 minutes a day of short, consistent sessions. It's a commitment that builds over time.

These short, consistent daily habits build focus. Your child learns how to sit, to start, and to finish their reading and math work every single day.

This system becomes a powerful habit that stays with them for the remainder of their lives. They get better at starting and finishing their work in every aspect of their journey, not just academics 🌟

At just 5 years old, Muhammad is already building strong learning habits through his Kumon journey! Through consistent daily practice, he has strengthened his reading skills, improved his focus, and gained confidence as an independent learner.

Muhammad enjoys reading, drawing, and playing outdoors with friends. Looking ahead, he hopes to become a doctor to use his skills to help others and make a positive impact in the world.

Keep up the amazing work, Muhammad! 👏

Did you know Kumon offers 3 programs?
Math, Reading, and English

Each subject is designed to help students build confidence, independence, and skills that support them both in and out of the classroom. 💙

• Math helps students develop problem-solving skills, logic, precision, and confidence with challenging concepts.
• Reading strengthens comprehension, critical thinking, and the ability to become confident, independent readers.
• English supports vocabulary development, pronunciation, listening comprehension, and communication skills for native Spanish speakers in the US and French speakers in Canada.

With daily practice, students can continue building a strong foundation for future learning one step at a time.⭐

Kumon starts with teaching your child how to hold a pencil, and for some parents, that is a surprising first step. But it's because small habits, when instilled early, make a big difference.

A proper pencil grip helps children write comfortably, stay focused longer, and avoid fatigue. When the physical part of learning becomes easier, children can then focus more on thinking and problem solving, rather than the mechanics of writing.

These strong foundations, no matter how small they may seem, set students up for long-term success. It's not just about legible handwriting, it's about building comfort and confidence in the learning process itself, creating a student who is ready to tackle any challenge 🌟

To make sure your child is completing their Kumon work without distractions, you can set up a parental control passcode on your device while they are using the Kumon Connect app.
It’s a simple way to create a distraction-free study environment and help encourage consistent daily learning habits at home, while still enjoying the flexibility, convenience, and ease of learning that Kumon Connect provides.

If you have ever watched a kid just 'get' algebra while yours struggles, Kumon explains exactly why it's not natural ability. In my experience, what looks like natural ability in algebra usually isn't.

The children who grasp algebra quickly aren't wired differently. Their arithmetic is automatic and foundational concepts solid. When algebra arrives, it's not a leap into the unknown, but a logical extension of what they've already mastered. They didn't get algebra faster, they got ready for it earlier.

This readiness is buildable for every child. The earlier a strong foundation is laid, the more their academic future will look like understanding rather than struggle. It's not because they were born that way, but because someone made sure they were ready 🌟
