It's not usually a scheduled conversation. Someone pulls you aside after service, or texts you at 11pm, or breaks down mid-sentence in a conversation that started as small talk. The grief, the marriage falling apart, the addiction they've been hiding from everyone.

Most leaders figure out how to carry that weight one hard conversation at a time, learning where the boundaries are as they go.
