Student Spotlight: Joe
Joe has been training with us at AGA since 2022, and one of the biggest things that stands out about him is his consistency. Week after week, you can count on seeing him in our 11am class twice a week, putting in the work and continuing to improve.
Joe was dangerous from the beginning and had success competing as a white belt. Since earning his blue belt, though, he’s taken his jiu-jitsu to another level. He’s tenacious, smart, more confident in his game, and knows what he’s looking for when he rolls. That has carried over into competition, where he’s continued to have success at blue belt.
What I appreciate about Joe is that his progress comes from simply putting in the work. He shows up, pays attention, trains hard, and keeps adding to his game. That kind of consistency over the years adds up, and you can see it every time he trains or competes.
One of the coolest parts is that jiu-jitsu is something Joe gets to share with his whole family. His wife Chana trains along with their two sons, James and Jacob. Having an entire family on the mats together is pretty special, and we’re lucky to have all four of them as part of AGA.
Joe’s dedication shines through, and it’s been awesome watching his progression over the years. Keep putting in the work, Joe. There’s a lot more to come.
