Mark your calendars! We took a brief break from our previous Support Group so we could plan a very special program that includes ongoing support groups, mixers, meet ups, and family events! Our first of the series will be on Monday, June 1st at 6 p.m. Location is TBD so keep an eye out on our social media posts, newsletter, and/or Eventbrite!

Please also welcome our new Community Support Program Coordinator and Support Group Facilitator, Alicia Sansone.
Alicia is a devoted mom of two who is raising a child with a disability and brings both lived experience and deep compassion to her work supporting families in our community. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Counseling and is passionate about creating supportive spaces where families feel heard, connected, and empowered. We are excited to have Alicia join our team and look forward to the care, advocacy, and encouragement she will bring to the families we serve.

We're still dreaming about the Golden Hour Gala! It's been almost a week since our most successful fundraising event and we are excited to get some highlights out from the evening.

First and foremost, we want to say THANK YOU to our incredible volunteers!

Because of your hard work, dedication, and heart, this year’s Golden Hour Gala was our most successful fundraising day EVER. Together, we raised more in one day than we ever have before, and that would not have been possible without the people behind the scenes who gave their time, energy, and care to make this event happen.

From setup to check-in, raffle support, guest assistance, cleanup, and everything in between, every detail you helped with contributed to creating a meaningful and impactful evening for our community.

Your support helps us continue advocating for families, students with disabilities, foster youth, and unhoused youth in our community. The work you do is extremely valuable, and we are so grateful to have volunteers who believe in this mission as deeply as you do.

Thank you for showing up, stepping in wherever needed, and helping make Golden Hour such a powerful night for EG SPEAKS. We truly could not do this without you. ✨

$17,023 is our grand total in funds raised for Big Day of Giving!
Our first ever BDOG event was a huge success! While we are just shy of our $20,000 goal, this is the most participation and the highest dollar amount we have raised to date.

Tomorrow is more than a fundraiser for us , it’s an opportunity to continue building something our community desperately needs.

Every day, families across the Elk Grove region rely on EG SPEAKS for special education advocacy, resource navigation, caregiver support, and guidance through systems that can often feel overwhelming and isolating. As the 4th largest school district in the state, our region still does not have a Family Resource Center dedicated to serving families of children with disabilities and special needs.

So we’re stepping up to help create one. 💛

We are working to build a future where families don’t have to struggle alone to access support, services, education, and advocacy for their children. A future where caregivers feel empowered and students with disabilities are fully supported and included.
