While a lot of students spent spring break traveling, a group of Wayne State students chose to give back through Alternative Spring Break Detroit (ASBD). During the week, students collectively completed over 700 hours of service by volunteering with local nonprofits and supporting communities across Detroit.

During the program, they got to explore the city, learn more about Detroit’s history, and make connections with each other and the people they met.

ASBD shows that spring break can be more than just time off. It can be a chance to grow, learn, and make an impact.
