Today, everyone enjoyed some individual drawing time—putting pencils to paper, using their imaginations, and practicing those important fine motor skills. We love watching each child’s creativity and personality shine through their work!

At ICCC, the first day of school is about more than new routines and new classrooms. It is about helping every child know: You belong here. Your ideas matter. You are ready to learn, explore, create, and grow.

Through Maya & Friends™, our children will build friendships, discover new things, solve problems, create with confidence, and learn what it means to be part of a caring classroom community.

Today our young artists explored, experimented, and discovered that colors can change in amazing ways! Every brushstroke sparked curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

At Maya & Friends STEM Studios™, art is more than painting; it's learning through discovery.

During center time, our students explored letters through hands-on and group activities - matching, identifying, and building confidence along the way. From collaborative carpet work to fine motor practice at the table, each moment supports early reading skills in a fun and meaningful way.

During Choice Time, our students explore, create, and connect in ways that feel natural to them - and that’s where some of the most meaningful learning happens.

From independent building and problem-solving to collaborative group play, each child is given the opportunity to follow their curiosity. Whether working կողside friends to construct something new or engaging in focused solo play, these moments help develop confidence, creativity, and social skills.

Choice Time encourages decision-making, teamwork, and imagination - all while allowing each child’s unique personality and interests to shine. 💫

This week, our students explored the letter G in a whole new way—through sign language! 🤟

As part of their learning, they practiced signing words like giraffe, girl, and goat, connecting language, movement, and meaning all at once. It’s incredible to see how incorporating sign language not only reinforces letter recognition, but also builds communication skills, confidence, and inclusivity in the classroom.

Learning goes beyond words—it’s something you can see, feel, and express. We are so proud of their enthusiasm and curiosity as they continue to grow! 💛
