How we became pollinator pros 🐝🦋 2nd graders learned all about the parts of a plant, how pollination works, and the important role pollinators play in keeping our world blooming 🌼 They wrapped up their learning by writing informational pieces about how humans can help protect these tiny but mighty helpers 🌎✨

Not just learning history — learning who gets remembered, and why. 📖

4th graders became experts on the Native Americans, African Americans, and women whose contributions to the American Revolution are too often overlooked. After visiting the Justice for All exhibit at The Henry Ford, students selected their own “unsung hero,” wrote essays advocating for why their stories deserve recognition, and even curated exhibit posters of their own!

Rooted in learning 🌱

Our Kindergarten crews partnered with The Greening of Detroit to plant trees throughout the community, using everything they’ve learned about what trees need to grow and thrive. From digging and planting to watering and caring for each tree, every student played a part in making our community a little greener. 🌳

Human Knot is an important (& FUN!) game for Kindergarten and First Grade students because it requires the whole crew to show cooperation and compassion, using teamwork to solve a challenge they could never complete alone. When students experience success as a crew rather than alone, they learn that cooperation makes challenges feel easier, accomplishments feel bigger, and relationships feel stronger. 🪢❤️
