Brilliant Detroit is a non-profit dedicated to building “kid success neighborhoods” where families with children ages 0-8 have what they need to be school-ready, healthy and supported. The Morningside hub's Parent Celebration was a blast!

Kiddos and caregivers made artwork on plates and bowls and created candles, bath bombs and shower steamers. Plus, the food was absolutely delicious! It was a wonderful way to celebrate the parents in the Morningside community for all their hard work and dedication.

If you’d like to join the fun next week, check out the upcoming programs across our neighborhood hubs at brilliantcities.org/detroit.

This AED and CPR Awareness Week, we're proud to highlight our partnership with the American Heart Association.

Thanks to the AHA, several of our hubs now have access to AEDs, and our staff have received training to respond confidently in an emergency. We’re grateful to the AHA for investing in the health and safety of our families, staff and neighborhoods.

We were delighted to welcome dozens of new families to a recent Play and Learn at the Brilliant Pontiac site!

In partnership with Nurse-Family Partnership, first-time parents and their little ones gathered for an afternoon of play, conversation and delicious food while learning more about the resources and programs available at the hub.

We’re grateful to the Nurse-Family Partnership team, part of Starfish Family Services, for their collaboration and commitment to supporting families across Oakland County.

What a day at the Spring in Bloom Sneaker Ball!

Last month, families from our Morningside and Osborn neighborhoods came together for an afternoon filled with food, bubbles, book giveaways, dancing and plenty of fun. It was wonderful to see so many children and caregivers showing up.

A huge thank you to the Junior League of Detroit's 2026 Provisional Cohort, JLD members and our Brilliant Detroit staff for making this event possible. And thank you to all the families who brought the energy and made the day so special!

There was plenty of movement happening across our hubs last week!

On Tuesday mornings, the Central hub hosts yoga and coffee for caregivers while the little ones play. The kids at Morningside got their yellow belts, and the little ones at Cody Rouge/Warrendale also rocked it in martial arts — then enjoyed hot dogs!

A huge thank you to United Way for Southeastern Michigan for donating 150 literacy kits!

Each kit included a children’s book, a stuffed animal, stickers, parent resources and hands-on activities focused on kindness and emotions. These kits help make reading interactive and fun while giving families tools to continue learning at home.

We had another wonderful week at our hubs!

While the Brilliant Moms were creating and connecting in Moms Club at the Springwells site, their babies explored the Pikler Triangle, a toy that helps build motor development, safe risk-taking, and body awareness.

Family Fun Day was a blast at Chandler Park thanks to the help of the Iotas, and the kiddos at the Fitzgerald site rocked it in LitLab improv!

We’d love for you to join us next week, so check out our upcoming programs at brilliantcities.org/detroit.
