A Prayer for Juneteenth

Loving God,

On this Juneteenth, we give thanks for the gift of freedom and remember all those who endured hardship, injustice, and the denial of their God-given dignity.

Open our hearts to see one another as You see us, as Your beloved children. Grant us the wisdom to listen, the courage to love, and the compassion to serve one another as Men and Women for Others.

May we be instruments of Your peace, working each day to build a community where every person is welcomed, valued, and treated with dignity.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Years from now, the records may change, but the lessons will not.

Brick by brick, Coach Drew Edson has built a program, a culture, and a legacy that will continue to impact Cubs long after the final race.

Monday evening, Coach Edson was officially inducted into the Catholic High School League Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2026.

Congratulations, Coach. We cannot wait to see what next season brings.
