Congratulations to the UPAD High School Robotics Team for making HISTORY!

UPAD Fusion was the first-ever Robotics Team from U Prep to become a Detroit District Winner and Troy District Finalist. With this achievement, they qualified to compete in the Robotics State Championships. We could not be more proud of the hard work our champions put in this season! 🏆

Yesterday, UPAD Middle School held its next Big Thing Business Expo for Mr. Cross’s 7th grade Math Class. Scholars presented a variety of products from clothing and jewelry to food and stress fidgets. This was a fun, interactive event that helped the 7th graders build confidence in their entrepreneurship ambitions while teaching them financial literacy through project-based learning.

The scholars worked in teams and were excited to present their business plan and products to students, staff, families, and community partners as they set out to answer: ⁣

Congratulations to the UPSM Middle School Chess Team as they can now say they are the #1 team in the state! This past month the team competed in the Michigan State Junior Chess Championships at Oakland University. They went on to win the finals against Bates Academy.

Please wish the team good luck as they head to Austin, Texas next month to compete in the national chess championship!

Good luck to the UPSM and UPAD High School robotics teams! This weekend they will be competing in the First Robotics Competition where they will showcase the robots they have been working hard on this year.

U Prep Athletics Update:

- Congratulations to the University Prep Academy Boys Basketball Team! This past weekend they took the MHSAA Boys Basketball District 57 Championship. Good luck tonight against Ferndale! They will be playing their Regional Semifinals game in Hazel Park High today at 5:30pm.

- Our UPAD Boys Basketball Team was the runner-up in their District Championship Game. They finished the season as Conference Champs and had the most wins in school history.

- This past weekend the UPA High Cheer Team won 1st Place in their Annual Cheer competition while UPSM High Cheer took 2nd place.

Congratulations to our scholar-athletes and coaches on a great season!

With the anticipated snowstorm, we will close all University Prep Schools tomorrow, March 10th.

UPA Elementary - Mark Murray Campus scholars recently had the opportunity to visit the beautiful Detroit Public Library. This was a great time for them to learn about all of the advantages of having a library in the community. After the tour and book reading, scholars registered for library cards and left with a free book! U Prep looks forward to continuing our partnership with the library.

Scholars at UPSM Middle School had an amazing time celebrating Black History month through their living wax museum! This was an event where scholars dressed as their favorite black historical figures and shared facts with their classmates about who they are and why they are relevant in history.
