ICYMI: Exciting new partnership between the IJC - International Joint Commission and RCE Detroit-Windsor focussed on the (interconnected) ecological and social well-being of the urban border region.
Exciting news: the UN Regional Centre of Expertise (RCE) Detroit–Windsor is supporting the International Joint Commission (IJC) Great Lakes Water Quality Board to explore how ecological restoration can also drive community revitalization across the Great Lakes.
This collaboration will bring together scientists, community leaders, and policymakers to:
· Link ecological health with social and economic well-being
· Strengthen community capacity and relationships
· Develop tools and strategies for more effective restoration
At its core, this work recognizes a simple truth: restoring the environment also restores communities. Together, we’re working to ensure Great Lakes revitalization improves both ecological and human well-being for generations to come.
