Jason Lee, our President and CEO, joined FOX 2 Detroit's Jamie Sherrod to talk about why financial literacy is a life skill, not a luxury. 📺💰

As students head back to school, the conversation often centers on math, history, and reading. Jason reminded viewers that understanding money is just as essential.

He talked about JA's hands-on approach, from teaching five-year-olds the difference between wants and needs to guiding teens through budgeting at our Finance Park facility. Jason also shared practical advice for parents: talk about money at the kitchen table, take kids shopping to compare prices, and don't be afraid to show them the utility bill.

Biggby Coffee franchise owners and team members gathered at Huntington Place for the BIGGBY Nation Summit, and JA was there to join the conversation. ☕🤝

JA of Southeastern Michigan teamed up with our colleagues from Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes to host an information table, connect with BIGGBY owners, and share the impact of our programs. We left with new connections and plenty of ideas for how BIGGBY owners across the region can partner with us to support local students!

LIFE Leaders Inc. has been bringing youth to JA Finance Park, and the results speak for themselves. 🏦📊

Maria Ramos-Franklin, Executive Director of L!FE Leaders, sat down with us to talk about the partnership. She shared how nearly 200 young people came through the program this summer, learning about budgeting, career pathways, and industries they had not considered before. She highlighted the DTE Energy exhibit as an eye-opener for students, exposing them to careers in energy that offer stability and a path to a middle-class lifestyle.

Maria also noted how the partnership helps her organization stretch limited resources while giving youth access to experts in the finance field. She sees JA as an invaluable resource for nonprofits looking to provide career exposure and financial education to young people.

A Detroit Lions VIP experience is up for bid! 🏈🤝

Avonte Maddox, a Detroit native and Super Bowl champion, has donated a package that includes two lower bowl tickets to a Lions home game, VIP lounge access, a post-game meet and greet, and signed gear. The auction is open to Lions fans everywhere, not just event attendees.

This auction is part of the Sachse Golf Outing, presented by Sachse Construction. Proceeds benefit Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan and DBG - Detroit. Bidding closes September 14.

We are proud to accept a Community Grant from the Taco Bell Foundation. 🎓

This grant helps us continue our work preparing young people for higher education, career pathways, and financial independence. The Taco Bell Foundation invests in organizations that give students the tools they need to succeed beyond the classroom, and we are grateful to be among them.

Programs like ours do not run on enthusiasm alone. Support from partners like the Taco Bell Foundation makes it possible to reach more students and provide the hands-on experiences that build real skills.

Today marks the start of a new school year for many students across Southeast Michigan. 📚🍎

Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan is ready to welcome students and educators back into our programs for the coming year. Whether it is a visit to JA Finance Park, a classroom workshop, or a job shadow experience, our goal remains the same: to help young people connect what they learn in school to what's possible after graduation.

Junior Achievement leaders from across the country gathered in Fort Wayne for the Experiential Learning Center Summit. 💡🤝

Innovation, collaboration, and student impact were at the heart of the event. Teams shared best practices and explored ways to expand JA's immersive learning experiences, and JASEM staff were in the room learning from peers and bringing back ideas to strengthen our own programs.

One of the most exciting updates was the reimagined JA Finance Park simulation. With a refreshed design and enhanced interactivity, the new simulation is built to support a variety of learning styles and help students connect classroom concepts to real-world situations.

The summit also welcomed several members of the Junior Achievement USA leadership team, including CEO Jack Harris.

82 young people from The Greening of Detroit's Green Corps program spent the day at JA Finance Park. 🌿📊

Before arriving, they visited Citizens' Corktown branch to meet with leadership and learn about careers in banking. At Finance Park, they worked through a budgeting simulation while a panel of Citizens employees shared their career journeys and offered workforce advice.

Volunteers from Citizens helped guide the experience, answering questions and connecting classroom concepts to real life.

Grateful to Citizens for showing up and to The Greening of Detroit for bringing your young leaders.

Students in Wayne County Community College District's Kids' College program visited JA Finance Park as part of their summer financial literacy camp. 📊🎓

The students, ranging from 5th to 8th grade, worked through a budgeting simulation that covered housing, transportation, groceries, insurance, and other real-world expenses. The goal was to introduce financial decision-making early, before the stakes are real.

A volunteer from Ford Motor Company and JA staff helped guide the WCCCD students through the experience.
