Through a generous gift from The Jewish Fund, we constructed a totally free laundromat for our community at the DIS. Over the last six weeks, our Young Entrepreneurs Club worked with Gingras Global and Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan to create marketing plans, analyze operating costs and develop other business skills, and now, thanks to grants from the Detroit Area Agency on Aging and Applebaum Family Philanthropy, these students are employed at "The Spin!"

Did you know that April is Financial Literacy Month? As a financial services institution, it’s no surprise that we have several team members that are passionate about helping students learn more about financial literacy.

Our Head of Strategy at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, Sidhartha Nair is a proud supporter of one of our non-profits, Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan. Within our partnership, Sid helps support students in three areas: Financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and workforce readiness.

Sid shares, “We’re focused on giving young people knowledge and skills needed for building their own economic success. The financial literacy classes are not overly complicated—it helps students understand for example, how money is printed and circulated, and more about how our government works. It helps students to build a more successful future.”
