✨ Meet the Team! ✨

Please join us in giving a BIG Pink Panther welcome to our new Assistant Principal, Mr. Dennis J. Veal II!

A Detroit native and proud DPSCD alum of Cass Technical High School, Mr. Veal brings more than a decade of experience serving Detroit students and families. His journey in education has taken him from the classroom as a U.S. History teacher to school leadership as an Assistant Principal and Principal, working with students and staff across both the middle and high school levels.

Mr. Veal believes strong schools are built on meaningful relationships, high expectations, strong instruction, and accountability—while making sure every student feels seen, supported, and capable of success.

As an instructional leader, he is passionate about strengthening school culture, supporting teachers, improving attendance and graduation outcomes, and using data to help students grow. Most importantly, he is excited about the opportunity to support the growth and development of young women at DIA.

He believes our girls should be empowered to become confident learners, leaders, critical thinkers, and advocates for themselves and their communities—and we couldn’t agree more!

Mr. Veal holds a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University, a Master of Education from the University of Phoenix, and Michigan K–12 School Administrator certification.

Outside of school leadership, Mr. Veal is a husband, father, and lifelong advocate for young people.

We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Veal to the DIA family and can’t wait for our students and staff to experience the leadership, energy, and commitment he brings to our school!

Welcome to DIA, Mr. Veal! Let’s make it an incredible year!

🎉 A Special Visit to DIA! 🎉

We were so excited to welcome Dr. Vitti, our Superintendent, to DIA today!

He stopped by to drop off 8 banners celebrating the incredible success of our students and staff during the 2024–2025 school year—and of course, we had to take a moment to celebrate!

While he was here, Dr. Vitti also popped into classrooms to see the incredible learning happening across our school.

We’re proud of how far our Pink Panthers have come, and we’re already working hard to make 2026–2027 another year of growth, excellence, and achievement.
