Tag a friend who needs this!
Many successful people became successful by doing the opposite of what everyone does.
Reverse thinking is a great tool to have in your mental toolbox. If you're burnt out from trying to overcome something, use this technique to cool off and create new ideas.

Those nights where you continually doubt yourself, whether this is worth it or not, are the worst.
Last night I was feeling like this questioning myself, "Can you really help young adults?" "Am I really capable of this?"
You see, I started this all when I was approached by a kid my age begging for money. I thought, how in the world has life been this unfair to you?
Through my own journey as a young adult, I've managed to figure some things out. I went to school for mechanical engineering and enjoy problem solving.
So anytime I run into issues like staying motivated or cheering myself up, I look at them like I do engineering problems first stating the things I know about the issue and looking into my "toolbox" for anything that can help.
Sometimes I have to make new tools, other times I have the tools for the job. And if I am able to do all this, surely I can teach others how, right?
I believe I can. Deep down I do. Even if I don't think I can some days.
And as I continue forward, that alone proves that I am capable. That I am strong enough to persevere through the not so good times.
So keep going, keep moving, even if you take a break, that's okay. Recharge your mind and you'll be on your way.

Any time someone asks me how they can be confident in themselves, this is what I tell them β€
Some are naturally confident. When you grow up with confident people, you become one of them. But what about the rest of us?
We have to build ourselves and try little things here and there. I'm a big advocate of working with your hands because it's a moment of pride being able to take an idea and translate that into something physical whether it's a painting, a sculpture, a meal, or an invention.
Take something as small as making a paper airplane. If it doesn't fly, are you devastated? Nope! And if you really wanted to make one that flies, you'd pick up that airplane and look it over and try another design and another design, maybe even Google some techniques on how to throw it properly and before you know it, you've made a really good paper airplane to show off to your friends.
These 3 methods can be used individually or collectively as in the paper airplane example. Try one today!

Sometimes we get sick of working on things we love. Take a breather and do something else productive.
While it's easy to turn on Netflix and be a bum the rest of the day, why not do something you've been meaning to do? Like clean around the house?
Okay, maybe not that, but something that will give you a sense of accomplishment after you do it.
Maybe go through your clothes and get rid of stuff you haven't worn in years? Decluttering is always a great go to project if you need a breather and when you're done, you'll feel a lot lighter too!
What's a good distracting project you can do during quarantine?

This post single handedly changed my life. And here's why:
When people are in a bad situation, what's the first piece of advice usually given? "Change your environment"
The same thing applies to your phone. I used to spend 4 to 5 hours on my phone scrolling through facebook, instagram, YouTube, whatever. And at the end of the day, I'd always feel awful because of the negativity I'd see or because the content was useless.
I'd tried several times before to limit myself from wasting all my time on my phone, but it never worked. And then it hit me.
If I was going to spend 4 to 5 hours on my phone, how could I at least do it in a way that would make me feel good afterwards? The solution was this post.
Remove all negativity from my social media feeds. That meant unfollowing or muting anyone that complained all the time or had nothing positive to say.
Well my feed ended up quite empty so I needed to do something to fill it back up. I decided to follow pages related to my interests and sprinkled in motivational content.
What happened was the content I binged on now made me feel good. It got me inspired which led me to think about things, projects. With enough thinking, I got enough motivation to go and try things and this has snowballed into a trail of success.
I could go on and on about why this is so important, but please, if you are someone like me who struggled with motivation and procrastination and spends their whole day on their phone, try this out. After the first day, you won't believe how different you'll feel. And after a week, it'll be like someone turned a light switch on in your head.
Has anyone else tried this? How has this changed your life?

When I learned I could motivate myself by doing absolutely nothing, my jaw hit the floor.
I knew in the back of my head that I needed to do some work, but I was too lazy to do it. I kept procrastinating. Days would pass.
After enough time had passed, the funny videos I watched, memes, just weren't funny anymore. I got sick of wasting so much time. I got sick of being idle that all I wanted to do was move forward.
If you've got a strict deadline, I wouldnt recommend using this strategy all too often. If you want to make sure you're not losing all ambition, spend your time looking at content related to your goal. Also, keep a calendar and cross out the days gone by. You'll be surprised as to how fast a month can disappear.

From my experience, 8am is the latest I'd want to wake up to feel like I have a whole day ahead of me.
Exercise is always a good idea in the morning because afterwards, you feel very good about yourself. But even a morning stretch routine, or maybe working on a project for a little bit before going into work is good too!
I used to work on my coaching business starting around 4-5am for 2 hours before getting ready for work. Nowadays I do my work in the evening because I was missing my alarm too oftenπ
How do you want to start your day? Let me know in the comments below!

You know it's going to be hard. You know it's going to take work. You know there'll be times when things feel like they aren't moving...and yet it still pushes you close to giving up!
That's why it's so important to have this drilled into your head..."Don't give up!" Because you need to be solely driven by the big picture. The longterm game. Not these short term ups and downs.
Jack Ma says, "If you don't give up, you still have a chance". And in these times when you want to give up, acknowledge the situation you're in and just know that if you just stay patient for a little longer and stay consistent, you will get there. You could be 3 feet from gold you know!
Throw a π in the comments below if you're not going to give up!

If you have an idol that you look up to and want to be like them, you'll want to research them and learn as much as you can.
These idols found success in a number of ways and by observing them, you will stumble upon many golden nuggets of information.
If you lift weights, you study Arnold's training routines. If you sing, you study Whitney's dynamics and stage presence. If you act, you study Hugh's ability to invoke emotion through facial features and delivery.
The information is all there. Don't spend your valuable time trying to reinvent the wheel.
So how did they do it? Most likely by obsessing over someone else and studying them. That and being consistent in their efforts π
So if you're feeling stuck and nothing is working, go and study. You may find the answer in someone else.
Who's someone you look up to and why?

The great thing about this tip is that you may end up talking to your friend about a problem you're dealing with and just by talking it out, you come up with a solution!
Don't let being quarantined stop you from catching up with your friends via snapchat or facetime or even a phone call. Let them know how you're doing and what you're working on.
Tag someone you're thankful for that has always listened to you!

The reason why you may feel so bogged down with stuff to do is because you may have too much on your plate.
When I first was attempting to stop being a lazy bum, I went all in. I made a to do list that was 15 to 20 items long.
"Make my bed", "Clean my room", "Do my laundry", "Check my bank account", the list went on.
What I found was some items too WAY longer than I expected and I wasn't able to do everything that day.
Every day, I'd stare at a half finished list and it made me feel awful. I wasn't good enough, I thought.
I came across this video of Bill Gates talking about Warren Buffett's schedule, it all made sense.
https://youtu.be/nH5K0yo-o1A
When my to-do list consisted of 3 to 4 items per week, it became manageable. It wasn't intimidating.
And being the lazy bum I was, this made the tasks at hand seem way easier because I had more time and therefore, I was able to convince my lazy butt to do them.
Buffett's advice on to-do lists is to make a list of 25 and circle the 5 most important goals. Everything that is not circled is not to receive any attention until those top 5 are completed.
The 3 to 4 items on my list were the only ones that would make me feel like I was moving forward. Even if something like "Do my laundry" wasn't on my list, I knew I was going to do it anyways, so it didnt need to be on my list.
Do you struggle with to-do lists or have you figured out a method that works for you?
