Happy Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈🎉

June is , where we mourn the friends, family, & community members we've lost to gun violence.

Everyone deserves safe classrooms, hospitals, & communities to grow & thrive - and that means we must continue the work to end gun violence with commonsense policy & solutions.

It’s important to hold these two truths. First, our advocacy has created real momentum. The House, Senate and Governor's budgets propose increased funding for English Language Learners, and the Senate budget also gets us closer to full support for at-risk students. Second, none of that matters if legislators drain money from the school aid fund and call it “relief”.

Take action with us to demand that elected officials fully and equitably fund public schools. For every student. No exceptions.

Join us in celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week! Throughout the week, we'll be highlighting teachers who have joined the Invest In MI Kids campaign. These educators have fought tirelessly for the wellbeing of their students, and we are so grateful to know each of them 💛

Melzitta Davis, a Special Education Teacher with DPSCD, speaks to the heart of this campaign: "Zip codes should not determine funding." She has witnessed firsthand how unfairly schools across the state are funded. Melzitta fights with IMK because the new revenue stream will go toward classrooms, career and technical education, and reducing class sizes 🤲🏾

In 2024, the Michigan Legislature passed 9 bills to improve the wages, healthcare, and pensions for millions of Michigan workers and their families.

Matt Hall has been stalling these bills — and hurting workers — for over a year. Now we’re taking him to the Supreme Court.
