I had a great time hosting an etiquette workshop at Wright and Company on Saturday, July 26th, for a very bright group of children aged 5-11. The children gained valuable life skills, from proper utensil use to engaging in polite dinner conversation, and some even made new friends!

My sincere thanks to the team at Wright and Company for providing an outstanding dining experience.

🇺🇸 This Independence Day, we honor the legacy of my 3x great-grandfather, who stands proudly at the center of a cherished family photo from 1890 in Mecosta County, Michigan. As a formerly enslaved man, he bravely enlisted in the Civil War to fight for freedom. Today, we celebrate not only his courage but also the strength and resilience of countless others like him who risked everything for a brighter future.

Their enduring spirit continues to inspire us every day.

> This week, we continue to celebrate inspiring women in history by honoring the remarkable Tina Chow—an icon who blended fashion, art, and hospitality. Her legacy, especially through the renowned Mr. Chow restaurants, exemplifies gracious living.

Etiquette Tip of the Day:
1. Warm Welcomes: Greet guests with genuine warmth.
2. Thoughtful Details: Beautiful table settings and curated playlists enhance gatherings.
3. Engaging Conversation: Foster meaningful connections through conversation.

As a former model, I resonate with Tina’s passion for elegance and hospitality. Like her, I believe that hosting goes beyond food; it’s about crafting an atmosphere where guests feel valued.

>I’m excited to introduce a new tradition: my monthly curated playlists! This month’s playlist is titled ESSENCE, inspired by the elegance of the fashion world. You can listen now by visiting my Linktree—just click the link in my bio!

“We are not the stories we tell ourselves. We are the stories we choose to live.” – Joan Didion

Though International Women’s Day has passed, March is a time to celebrate the remarkable achievements and contributions of women. Let’s honor the strength, resilience, and courage of women who have shaped our world and continue to inspire us.

Happy Women’s History Month! 💫

Celebrating Black History Month through food and etiquette 🍽️

I’d like to explore the rich relationship between culinary traditions and etiquette, and I wanted to share some books that have truly inspired me. If you haven’t already read them, please consider adding them to your collection!

“High on the Hog” by Jessica B. Harris delves into the incredible journey of African culinary traditions in America, showcasing how food connects us to our heritage and each other.

“The Rituals of Dining” by Margaret Visser invites us to reflect on dining customs across cultures and how they express our values and connections.

“Tiffany’s Table Manners for Teenagers,” beautifully illustrated by Joe Eula, is a fun and stylish guide for young readers to learn essential etiquette with flair.

Food is more than just what we eat; it’s about the stories we share and the connections we build. Let’s honor our culinary traditions and the etiquette that brings us together this month! 💖
