June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month. 💜

To the future nurses, doctors, therapists, and care leaders: the future of brain health is in your hands.

As the global impact of cognitive decline expands, the future of healthcare depends heavily on the preparation of our incoming workforce. Meeting this complex care challenge requires the unique insights, technological adeptness, and human-centered empathy of the next generation of professionals.

Choosing to specialize in neurology, geriatrics, or cognitive care goes far beyond routine clinical management. It provides an immediate opportunity to lead breakthrough care models, champion health equity, and fundamentally elevate the standard of living and dignity for aging populations.

From running laboratory tests to assisting in surgeries and managing medications, these professionals bring specialized skills that help healthcare teams deliver safe and effective care.

In this series, we're highlighting several types of healthcare technologists and technicians and the experience, degrees, or certifications needed to do these roles.
