DSA Staff, Families, and Students,
Please be advised that all schools and District buildings will be open tomorrow, January 21st, 2026. All students and staff are expected to attend school and work at their regular time. Snowfalls are expected tomorrow morning so please plan to leave for school and work earlier. School and building parking lots may not be completely cleared due to new snowfall. However, the expected amount of snowfall should not prevent everyone from arriving to school and work safely.
The District has now used four of its six “forgiveness” days for weather. If we use two more days and weather impacts the opening of school again after those two days are used, then we will need to make up days in June unless the state grants school districts more days of “forgiveness.”

“A person who uses their wisdom to lift others builds a legacy that outlives them.”
— African Proverb
Today, we proudly celebrate our very own DSA Principal Dr. Mayowa Lisa Reynolds, an extraordinary leader, scholar, and pillar of our community.
On your birthday, we honor not only the years of life, but the depth of purpose within them. Your commitment to excellence in education, your unwavering service to our students and families, and your leadership grounded in cultural pride and integrity continue to shape lives far beyond the walls of our school.
As a principal, educator, and doctor of your craft, you exemplify what it means to lead with vision, discipline, and heart. Your accomplishments are many, but your impact is immeasurable.
May this year return to you the wisdom, strength, and joy that you so generously pour into others. We are grateful for your leadership, inspired by your journey, and honored to learn under your guidance.
Happy Birthday, Dr. Reynolds.
Your legacy continues to rise.
