Schools, students and educators perform better when teachers and school staff receive the professional respect, support and compensation they deserve. Michigan ACTS, an affiliate of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), benefits from being part of a national network of education professionals who can share best practices and speak with a united voice on behalf of our profession. As a union of

professionals, the AFT has long supported teachers and school employees in their efforts to strengthen their voice on the job, improve their schools, and better their wages, benefits, and working conditions. This commitment extends to all educators, regardless of the type of school in which they work. The AFT represents teachers and a support staff in 80 public charter schools across 13 states. These educators recognize that the AFT and its affiliates have the experience and professionalism to help them achieve their goals.
