Dear Detroit Leadership Academy Families:
The DLA High School campus is undergoing a much deserved roof replacement in 3 phases. Out of an abundance of caution for
student and staff safety while this project takes place, the campus will be closed during phase 1 and phase 2 construction (phase 3
will happen at a later date and time). As a result, all students and staff will have virtual learning Friday, March 25th and Monday,
April 4th through Friday, April 8th, 2022.
Please look for communication from the school or refer to the DLA website for details about virtual instruction during that time.
A few friendly reminders:
• All DLA students and staff are on Spring Break the week of March 28th-April 1st we encourage all students to use the Covid-19 antigen test that was sent home before returning in-person on April 11th
• PSAT and SAT begin April 13th
• Quarter 3 ends on Friday, April 14th
Thank you.
Happy International Women’s Day to all our female leaders making a difference every day.

She knows that anything is possible and works to make sure her students know no limits.
What do you love about Principal Few?
Last week our Cougars participated in DLA's College Access Fair, with 15+ two-year, four-year, technical, and service organizations showing up for our students! HUGE shoutout to the COUGARS TO COLLEGE team for making this possible! ❤️🖤
Congratulations to DLA Senior Demetri Glenns, who has officially signed his NCAA letter of intent to attend and play football for Lawrence Technical Institute! We're proud of you, Demetri! ❤️🖤
Our Seniors are working on WRITING FOR SOCIAL CHANGE; in this project they had to ask a research question, find statistics, cite their source, and include a call to action. Check out these four social media post assignments by our Cougars!

Dear Detroit Leadership Academy Families:
The Metro Detroit area is expecting a rain-ice-snow event, between Thursday and Friday, this week that could make travel to and from school dangerous for our staff and students. Additionally, there are some construction projects planned for these dates that could interrupt the quality of in-person instruction at both buildings. Due to these factors, students at the K-8 and HS campuses will attend school VIRTUALLY on Thursday, February 17 and Friday, February 18, 2022.
As a reminder, students have Winter Break from Monday, February 21st through Friday, February 25th. We look forward to speaking with our Cougar families next Wednesday, February 23rd for Quarter 2 Family Conferences (sign-up link is on the K-8 and HS website as well as posted to PowerSchool and sent via email). In-person learning at DLA will resume on Monday, February 28th.
Thank you.
Principal Few
