DETROIT -- Wayne State University senior women's basketball student-athlete Shea Tripp (Jackson, Mich. / Michigan Center) has been selected as one of three national finalists for the College Women's recipient of the John Wooden Citizenship Cup as announced by the Athletes for a Better World.

WSU University Relations, the Department of Political Science, the Organization of Black Alumni and the Juneteenth Planning Committee hosted “Detroit History is Black History Part II: The Young and Archer Years.” The panel discussion focused on Detroit’s Black political leadership under Mayor Coleman A. Young and Mayor Dennis W. Archer, Sr.
The panelists all were WSU alumni who worked in the Young and Archer Administrations. They shared
narratives (some known and unknown) that defined the political leadership of Detroit’s first two Black mayors and how they impact Detroit today.
