The 2026 Back to School Bash brought Ilitch School Students together to launch the new school year with an afternoon of food, games, dancing, and a chance to connect with student organizations, faculty, and companies.

For Ilitch School alum Adrian Russell ’23, earning the prestigious Damon J. Keith Scholarship Award is more than recognition of his hard work — it’s the next step toward a career rooted in giving back.

After finding mentorship and community through MPREP, Russell discovered a passion for serving his Detroit community as a community navigator. Now, this scholarship will support his journey through Wayne State University Law School, where he hopes to pursue work in nonprofit or constitutional law.

Celebrating the people who make student success possible.

The 2026 Scholarship Program brought together scholarship donors and recipients for a morning of recognition, connection and celebration at the Mike Ilitch School of Business.

This year, more than 200 students received approximately $530,000 in scholarships, made possible by the generosity of donors who have chosen to invest in the next generation of business leaders.

Named scholarships are more than financial support — they are an investment in students, their goals and their futures. The program gave recipients an opportunity to meet the donors behind their awards and gave donors the chance to see the impact of their generosity firsthand.

Thank you to the donors who continue to invest in Ilitch School Students and help create opportunities for them to succeed.
