SAE awards the inaugural John Melvin Motorsport Safety Award -- named in honor and memory of an amazing member of Wayne State's BME and ME faculty -- to Jim Downing, Hubert Gramling, and Bob Hubbard in recognition of their work to develop the HANS device. Dr Melvin did significant work testing the HANS device in Wayne State's Bioengineering Center.

FDA (Detroit), Information Session – Friday, October 23rd at noon in the Alumni House | WSU... Dr. Brenda McCurdy, Supervisory Microbiologist of the FDA in Detroit, MI will present a company overview and typical career pathways for Wayne State STEM degree applicants.
Just had an amazing dinner with representatives of my BME undergrads. They gave me an amazing card with personal messages from most of the 96 students in the program. I'm having trouble seeing the phone due to the tears in my eyes. Thank YOU to the current students, our 36 graduates, and the students of the future.
