The Drone Apprenticeship Program

We introduce students to the captivating field of drone technology, robotics, and programming.

The Drone Apprenticeship Program has spent the last seven years introducing young people between the ages of 10 - 24 to the intriguing world of drone technology. Having fun while learning drone pilot skills and competing in drone skills challenge competitions is encouraged for our young ages 14 and under. While the older students in our program receive training on how to use drones in work-related

and employment-related scenarios. Students can also obtain certificates that increase their worth in the employment market.

Today, we are excited to shine a spotlight on one of our nonprofit partners operating out of the Ford Resource and Engagement Center on the east side of Detroit — The Drone Apprenticeship Program (DAP) developed by Darryl E. Bingham.

DAP is committed to nurturing the next group of new age techies, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, digital marketers, and more. DAP’s vision is to provide under-served communities with exposure to newer technology — one where they could participate in its development and growth.
