Honored to be part of the Annual NYC Eid Festival hosted by . Steinway is shut down as we come together to celebrate this momentous holiday.
Culture Crate will be there sharing our Saboon Crates while they last, and telling the story of Palestinian soap making and why this craft matters. Saboon is a tradition at risk of disappearance, and through our educational kits, we’re working to preserve and pass it on.
A portion of proceeds will also go toward supporting soap makers in the occupied West Bank.
Culture Crate

SOAP MAKING UNDER OCCUPATION
This is not just about soap. It is about land, labor, and the fight to exist.
Olive trees are uprooted.
Farmers are attacked for harvesting their own land.
Factories lose access to oil and workers lose their livelihoods. And still, Palestinians continue to make saboon.
What was once a cycle of sustainability, where nothing went to waste, has become a reflection of dispossession.
Under occupation and facing annexation, even the act of making soap is resistance.
Sustainable Development Goals cannot be achieved under blockade. There is no climate justice, no clean water, no decent work, and no sustainable future while Palestine remains occupied.
This is not just craft. It is continuity, culture, and survival.
Preserving it is an act of defiance.
